Another Paris Saint-Germain player, substitute goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier, fell victim to a nightmarish ordeal on the night of December 18-19. While at home in Hardricourt, Yvelines, with his wife and children, Letellier was held hostage during a burglary. The player was awakened by the alarm system around 2 a.m. and immediately called the police. However, the burglars interrupted the communication before gathering the family in a room of the house.

Alexandre Letellier s wife was violently assaulted in the face by one of the burglars while holding their two-year-old child in her arms. The criminals managed to extort jewelry and cash before the police quickly intervened, arresting three of the four perpetrators, two of whom were minors.

The ongoing investigation is led by the judicial police of Versailles, focusing on charges of armed extortion and kidnapping. A police officer was injured during the intervention. While three of the suspects are in custody, the fourth burglar is still at large.

Unfortunately, PSG has already faced similar situations, with first-choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma being held hostage five months ago. These incidents are part of a series of attacks targeting football players in France. In 2021, three PSG players fell victim to burglaries, prompting the club to enhance its security measures. The situation raises concerns about the safety of players and prompts a wave of supportive messages on social media.
